BLAST

 Information

BLAST program implemented here to perform BLAST sequence analysis of input sequence(s) against a specific plant dna or protein sequences.
BLAST: Altschul S.F., Gish W., Miller W., Myers E.W. and Lipman D.J. (1990) Basic local alignment search tool. J. Mol. Biol. 215: 403-410.

 BLAST database preparation

  • All the plants dna and protein sequences are downloaded from Ensembl
  • These sequences are formatted using BLAST package to make it a database

 Instructions

Steps to follow

  • Select the BLAST program from the dropdown menu.
  • Select a specific Plant sequence database to BLAST against.
  • Select a pre-defined e-value
  • Click on Example nucleotide sequence. or Example protein sequence. to populate the box with example sequences
OR fill the box with sequences in FASTA format.
  • Alternatively, you can also upload a FASTA file.
  • Click on Run BLAST
  • Wait for the page to load the actual BLAST output on the webpage.
